January rating of computer viruses: Conficker is again in leaders

Company Eset has published the list of the most widespread Internet threats revealed by experts of virus laboratory Eset in January, 2010. In January the rating of world threats with the big separation has been again headed by worm Conficker.
The general percent of infections has made 9,9 %. The highest indicators of distribution of the given threat in Ukraine – 24,95 %, in the republic of South Africa – 15,77 % and Bulgaria – 15,37 %.
On the second place of a rating still is held by harmful program INF/Autorun with an indicator in 7,37 % which extends by means of replaceable carriers. As to regional penetration INF/Autorun has headed ratings of threats in the United Arab Emirates – 8,3 %, in Israel – 5,19 % and Lithuania – 4,9 %.

In the statistics of harmful programs for the first time it is possible to observe Trojan JS/Trojan Downloader Agent which usually extends on harmful web sites. It has taken the eighth position of a rating with an indicator in 0,9 %. This program loads all files on the infected computer and starts them without any permission or the consent of the user. High distribution of Trojan has been noticed in many countries, such as Romania (4,43 %), Hungary (4,25 %), Turkey (3,33 %), the Netherlands (2,7 %), Slovakia (2,47 %) and others.
In Russia the rating of harmful programs is headed still by worm Conficker. The total number of infections has made 14,44 %, the first position is occupied with a version of this harmful program – Win32/Conficker. AA with an indicator of 6,8 %.
Penetration of espionage program Spy.Ursnif has sharply increased. In January it has occupied the second line of the Russian rating. This worm steals the personal information, accounting records from the infected computer and sends them on a remote server. Distribution of the given threat is known also in other countries of Eastern Europe. In particular, a share of penetration Spy. Ursnif in Belarus has made 5,29 %, in Russia – 5,17 %, in Ukraine and in Kazakhstan – 0,96 %.

Generally, I want to write about someone who does not exactly fir to this definition, but for simplicity of perception I will use this word to talk about those who, using various computer technologies, harm your computer or steals from it the important information.
Usually when a person has learned to program something, especially at young age, he/she longs for feats. Such hackers are called “hackers-jokers”. They write some harmful program on purpose to ego-trip and take a fun. Once I have met such kind of virus. After reboot of the computer the words “Let’s play poker” have appeared on the screen. I have apprehended it as a joke, but the virus hasn’t been joking also I has paid wholly for this loss.
It happens that hackers transfer you an invisible program which simply destroys yours Windows, or makes so that work with system is impossible. I have thought that hackers of such programs are also jokers. However, black humor is also humor.
