Garden is one of the biggest factors of your property. Having a beautiful and clean garden will increase your property’s value by approx 20%. Many people these days are decorating their garden so that the value of the property increases in the market. Most homeowners are building swimming pools, trampolines and other garden accessories, which might catch the eye of the buyer.
During this economy period I think this is a brilliant idea. Another good idea would be if you have a big garden then increase the size of your conservatory to create extra rooms. Recently I had my conservatory rebuilt with one extra room and a toilet. Before it was a two bedroom house with 1 bathroom, 1 living room and 1 reception but now it is a three bedroom house with two bathrooms, one reception, one conservatory and one living room. This change cost me approx £3,000 but has helped increased the price of my house by 15%, which is a lot of money.
This is just one example, recently my Uncle built a play ground in his back garden which includes five swings, two 12ft trampolines with safetypads and safety nets, 5 benches, a barbecue stand, few climbing toys for kids and a water fountain. Are you wondering how did he afford it? He has been a Doctor for over 50 years so this wasn’t anything for him. His pension is double my salary, so just imagine how big his house is or shall call it mansion. I asked him why he built a playground, he replied: in few years he wants to sell this house and buy a small house for he and his wife but also mentioned if the house doesn’t sell he would like to open the back garden for his neighbourhood kids and also allow a nursery next to his house to use the play ground. What a really good idea. He can make money by giving it for a rent as a nursery so he won’t really be loosing anything, which he spent to built it. My plan is to get a 10ft trampoline on to my garden and create a playground for my kids.
