Your brake systems must be kept in decent repair, because of the fact that your life depends upon it! If you do not do which, they will wear out at a high rate of speed, and then you’ll have to get new ones almost straight away! The best way to take it easy is to not drive very fast, drive conservatively, and above all, don’t brake abruptly unless you unquestionably have to. This will ensure that your brakes will break in gradually like they were meant to.
Of course, big semi trucks have different brake systems together. They’re called air brakes since they are powered by compressed air, and are much more powerful than the ones you have on your vehicle! Because of the fact of the tremendous load that they’re under, they can at times fail when the truck is going down a steep hill, causing it to careen out of control. This is why numerous mountain roads have runaway truck ramps, where trucks can careen into a bed of gravel which will stop their forward motion.

Should this question have been asked 1000 years ago, a choir of voices may have said – something to make fire, as man could not survive without fire? Food had to be cooked and water boiled to kill potentially harmful bacteria. Fire also protected man against cold and wild animals, so the best survival equipment could be fire.
Make no mistake, the ability to make fire has never changed in survival importance, but the methods have certainly changed with the times. There is one piece of equipment that almost all outdoors people keep handy at all times – the flint stone.
When the flint is struck against any metal surface, a strong spark is created with the ability to light fine materials such as grass. Lighters, matches or any other modern ignition system may fail very quickly, so their use may be limited as far as survival equipment is concerned.
The fact that people still get lost in very remote places renders most modern equipment quite useless. Same applies for GPS systems that may not have satellite coverage to help a lost tourist out of trouble.
Man has forgotten how to survive like our ancestors and live in a dream world where nothing bad ever happens. The problem is, bad things do happen and when they do, victims are so stunned they simply cannot think clearly or think at all.

Mark your route as you go along so that you can be tracked easily. Move towards a road if possible and stay away from dangerous areas like thick bushes, marshes or cliffs. If you have no idea where you may be, try and climb a high tree or hill to get a better view of your surroundings.
It may be impossible to go and seek help, so in this situation, stay put and make it as comfortable and safe for yourself as possible. People looking for you will need a clear marker that can be visible for miles, so use a fire to create a massive white smoke stack. Green materials thrown onto a fire will produce just that, and clearly mark your position.
Thinking clearly may prove to be your most trusted piece of survival equipment. Always seek out options that will see you do better and not fall into desperation. Survivors all share a common mindset – that of positive thinking.
